There's a serial number on the left side, but any stickers or nameplates are long gone, as are some other identifying pieces such as belt pulley shields.

An outer spindle mount plate cracked. I bought a replacement 3260 spindle -- since it's a 3-hole mount, not a 4-hole spindle mount like the 3160 -- and the mower now mows fine again. This is all before I learned there are like half dozen possible different mowers out there for this tractor.

But rear guide wheels location and a "missing" lift linkage, for example, don't mesh with pics I've seen of the 3260. Has thick front guide wheel mounts but the wheels are gone.

This thing only has one deck belt, but an odd belt placement where the movable idler and fixed idler (one of each) bring the belt very close to a deck bolt.

And because the belt at the movable idler was hitting the bolt, we "shortened" the tension spring with a rigged fix using a huge washer ...

Can't find 3260 or 3260A belt diagrams.

Down in the above link is a diagram for belt installation. Also correct spring and spring location for the tensioning idler.

Search the internet using your number. 482 U 1113 comes up as a mower deck for a Cub Cadet. I don't know if that mower was ever manufactured for mounting on a Numbered Cub.

Edit: Guessing you have the wrong drive spindle belt. If the above link does not have the correct belt part number, a search of the internet will provide a chart with belt sizing for your deck.
 
Interesting, thanks. I thought that was a serial number.

I'm more confused now. The image at that link show no fixed idler, and the movable idler pointed the opposite direction.
 
From your photos, the mower deck has had a number of modifications.

I don't know why the fixed idler pulley, guessing someone purchased the wrong sized belt and installed it as a fix.
 
I have a 3160 on one 185 and it uses 3 belts.---one long to the center, then 2 shorter ones to each outside spindle. the belt adjustment is done by sliding the spindles out (very poor design) also the correct belt length is super critical (mine came with IH belts that are the right length)--- as Eugene said,---these were intended for use on a cadet and not numbered mowers.
Your deck has been so butchered up that you will have do one of 2 things,-- junk it, OR start re-building it, returning it to factory specs. with correct parts from IH.---And no I am not a fan of these mowers, but they do cut grass real well. I am not positive but I think the older decks were made by Danco
I use a Woods 59 on the 185- 6 speed and it's a bush - hoggin machine.---Another good deck is the Woods 42 single blade deck, I have several of them and they cut as good as a expensive lawn mower.
If the 3160 and 3260 are similar, I could post a pic of the way mine is set up.---haven't used it for several years and it's kinda blocked in but the mower deck id visiable. thanks; sonny
 
Ugh.

OK so it's a Frankenstein arrangement. Hey if anyone wants to know if a modified Cadet mower works (and decently) on a Lo-Boy the answer is "yes". Although it does seem like a lot of effort for just a 42" or 48" mower.

We won't be junking it nor rebuilding it correctly, since it does cut grass well.
 
As long as it works, --that's the important thing.
I have one on an AC-C tractor,--Frankensteined worse than yours,--They made a kinda neat belt tightner on it that looks to work well and is not in the way of anything. thanks; sonny
 
The one thing we'd like to add to the mix is one more idler ... somewhere in the middle of the left ("driver's side") run of the PTO belt. That thing swings back and forth probably 1ft while running. Amazing the belt doesn't fly off a pully.

Buy the correct spring for the movable idler and the correct belt. Removed the fixed idler.

That poor deck has been farmer fixed enough.
