Model A exhaust lift system

I have a 49 A and it still has reminites of the old exhaust lift system attached. Connection from the exhaust manafold, to a control valve and connections from there to the steering column. I want to take all this stuff off and clean up the tractor, as I will never use this system going forward. Are there any gotches I should look for in the process. Have the gas tank off so I can paint it, now would be an oppertune time to clean it up

some want that system for restorations etc so save every nut and bolt you can, you can probably sell that if you do not want it

Second what tst said. If it still has a pressure valve attached to the manifold, safest bet is probably to get another manifold to replace the current one and keep the manifold with the other lift parts. The pressure valve and manifold are usually thoroughly rusted together. Attempting to separate them will probably result in breaking one or both parts.
