Loader for H

Are there many options available to put a loader on an H. Mine is a 1943. Won't need to do much with it, move some manure, maybe a little gravel. A trip bucket would be fine. Can they be found in working order very easily? About how much do you see them go for?

There are a lot of them around, setting in barn lots, etc, both IH and aftermarket in the 450 to $250 range. Most of the ones for an M will also work on an H by changing or turning over the front mounting brackets. The big thing to watch for is the cylinders being internally rusted to the point they cannot be economically repaired. I got into that on the loader for the H that members of the board restored for me. Even though the cylinder was closed, the inside was to the point it would have cost $700 to repair them.

I believe that will bolt right up to your tractor, though you will need to add control valves and make some plumbing changes. Price is a little high, but not too bad considering it's shape.

I see I mistyped earlier, I meant to say $50 to $250 range.

I do not know much about the H / M and 300 / 400 tractors other than they were basically different sheet metal on the same basic structures. Knowing this, here is a loader that may be worth investigating. The price sure is right, and at the very least, it looks like the basics and a good starting point.

I have one on a 330 that I think will fit you can have it for $ 100 but I am in Va

The utility series tractors were low slung, and loaders for them do not typically work well on the H/M series.

Does it work well? Got any pics? I'm not so familiar with loaders or hydraulics, would I need to add a control valve with it? If it is a trip bucket that only lifts, i.e., no down pressure, I wouldn't need a control valve right? Sure am interested if we could fire up the express to get it closer. That is a long way. Thanks David.

Doesn't sound like a bad price to me if it is in as good working order as claimed. Course not as good a price as the "super deal" I got on the IH 1701 loader I bought for $350. Of course later I paid $300 for a new bucket, $100 to have a cylinder rebuilt, $150 to have new bushings welded on and pins made, $100 to have it sandblasted, $80 a gallon for primer and paint, and . . . . .

Hmmm, the deal you're looking at sounds pretty reasonable to me after all!
