Ed, I have a new source for the infamous blue rags you have so generously provided. A friend of Aron's has a friend that works for a veteranarian that throws these out by the bagful.

Did them the old fashioned way, a 5 gallon bucket and some Borax, stir them every couple of days, rinse in hot water.

Whenever medical providers use one of those kits on me, I request to have all of it given to me. The scissors, tweezers and hemostat make nice additions to my toolbox in addition to the cloth. They typically discard everything in the kit. Most do give it to me. I need to stop injuring myself and needing sutures.
 
Dental picks. Son talked his dentist out of a packet of broken, worn out, dental picks. Come in handy for picking out seals, paint out of crevices when stripping furniture, and a bunch of other uses.

Cheaper to but towels, than to get "free" ones, your way! Less painful, too!
The amount of waste, in medicine, is sinful. The dings on my scalp, from dumpster diving, for 40 years of hospital employment, have just finished healing, after several years of retirement! Still have a reasonable stash of supplies. Ed
