My K241A is wore out and I found a cheap K241AQS block off a John Deere on ebay. This Deere block is stipped down and has no parts with it. Will my k241A parts work with it, such as the camshaft, crankshaft ect.? Thanks, David Fowler.

K241a is a starter / generator block and the 241AQS has the geared starter/geared flywheel with a charging stator inside the flywheel. I believe the output crank shaft is different because they had electric pto clutches. Plus the front bearing plate is wider for the geared flywheel.

It should interchange with your k241 parts.

Soon i'll be changing over a 14hp AQS into a S/G engine so it will fit in a narrow frame using the 12hp fornt bearing plate and sheetmetal.(narrow frame)

We been talking here about when a 10hp, a 12hp kohler is on the last .030" bore we were wondering since the blocks are the same with some of them why can't we bore the .030" over 10hp block to the std 12hp bore so we can use the std 12 hp piston and rings? Some here think it can be done with the older blocks because there thicker in certain areas. If this is possible then a over bored 12hp can be rebored to a std 14hp bore. Since all three head gaskets are the same why not? The only difference is the bore sizes.

I have some extra 10hp blocks here and i'd like to see if i can bore it to a 12hp std bore someday.
