I was watching the news this morning, and certainly hope our friends (like William) in Arizona are not being impacted by the current flooding there.

Also the upper Midwest is being hit hard by rains, the West with raging fires, and we in the southeast will be facing scorching weather this weekend.

Everythings pretty tame up here in New England! Blessed to live in a region of the US that has pretty mild weather.

I stopped watching the news years ago. Less to think about. I have plenty going on upstairs on my own.

Going to be a little warm for the Pinckneyville Cubfest and Cub Cadets this weekend. Otherwise doing as well as can be expected.

A lot of water and wind damage throughout the Harrison area. Many people have been evacuated and displaced until damages can be repaired. Fortunately we were spared.

We're just seeing mid July temperatures here in Missouri, with heat alerts and warnings, triple digit heat index every day for the last couple of weeks. We did get a rain storm a couple of days ago, rained for a few minutes, which just opened the door to more humidity immediately afterwards.

Heat..... Dry..... Hard rain.... Yep we've had them all here in SW MI. but people are doing ok. You just kinda take what life gives you and move on. Vern

heat/drought and ---- storms came thru a few weeks ago and broke off over a half mile of BIG power poles just south of our house---flattened everything---crops laying right flat on the ground in places. they called it a rain bomb. took out a wide swath across the county and did millions in damage. nobody killed or crippled that i know of.

I've heard of this before. Moisture in the clouds suddenly precipitates all in a short amount of time. It comes down thick, heavy and concentrated in a small area. It's like a vertical flood and hits the ground like how water from the tap hits the bottom of the sink.
