IH Bench Grinder

Acquired this today. It does work. I plan on a restoration. Looks like it was probably IH white. That sound right? If you have one that has original paint or have restored one, I’d appreciate some pics.

In case anyone is interested, I’ve found two layers of different shades of an almond color(IH white? I don’t know). Lighter shade on top. Perhaps a primer and then IH white? Also has the IH logo on the ring attached to end of motor. I’m calling it a bench grinder, but I’m not absolutely certain on that. That’s what it was being used as. Possibility it may have had some other application previously? I have not been able to find any info online on this. Zero. If anyone could guide me to a source or site that might be helpful? Thanks

Has that ring got a part number? I think I see it in the picture but can't quite read it.

That logo has the "C" around the outside. It would predate use of Harvester White. Maybe you are looking at Harvester Cream.

The numbers I see are 2321C. And that would make sense on the color, Jim. The darker color was throwing me off, I thought it might be too dark for IH white. Thanks for the heads up on that.

That is evidently a long-dead number. The "C" suffix was used on dairy equipment, including cream separators, milkers, and milk coolers. The cream color was used extensively on that group of machines. Maybe it was originally a motor for something in that category.

Thanks, Jim. At least that gives me some idea what to be on the lookout for. I suspected it might have had a previous use. I would’ve thought if originally a bench grinder, something would’ve showed up
