I just sold my Cub and I'm going to look at an A. Where do i find the serial number, and how will I know if the tractor is A or super A-Dave

Tractor SN should be on a plate riveted to the left seat support. Engine SN is hand stenciled on a boss on the right side of the block near the top. Here's a list of SN's by year of production copied from an old hard copy of a parts book. Can't tell by looking but the SA has a little more HP due to larger pistons.

The most obvious visual difference the Farmall Super A will have the hydraulic touch control unit under the gas tank and the Farmall A will be open.

If you are use to the hydraulic on the Cub you will want a Super A. I replaced my Cub (it went to my son) with a super A a couple years ago.

I took it a step beyond that and promised myself I'll not buy anything unless it has Fast Hitch, it is so darn handy for me hooking up attachments.
