I Must Be A Chatterbox

As much as I enjoy Cubs, I enjoy this forum just as much. So the other day while looking at some settings in my forum account I looked at my post count. Holy cow, I saw that I was fast approaching 25,000 posts. It seems just like yesterday that I had gotten my 501 pin. I know I have been active on the forum since August 2007, but I didn’t know I was jabbering that much. From what I can tell, only Rudi has more posts than that and he has been deceased for almost ten years. If my calculations are right, this should be the magic post. I have to be honest and say, this is the best bunch of people I have met on the internet. I have met many of you at CubFests over the years and I hope to meet many more at future CubFests.

Congrats on 25K posts! I'm only a recent member and have barely made double digits, but while I love reading about other people's Cubs, I'm not currently active with mine just yet. It makes me sad every time I walk past it. Retirement is in sight, tho, and hopefully some more time to work on it!

Congratulations, Bill, on joining the 25K club. I'm sure it's a small club. Most of us probably won't get in, or at least, not for a very long time.

Bill, it's sad to come on these types of sites and find no conversations. I know I don't come on here as much as I should but it's nice to get back and see upgrades and conversations.

With the prior version of this site, you could get a member list sorted by number of posts. Then you could ID the chatterboxes. If you can do it now, I haven't found the way.

I liked that feature. I haven't found a way to do it with this version.

Congrats on 25,000! At first I was thinking about much 25,000 is... then I got to wondering about how many times you had to click the keyboard to make those 25,000 posts lol

Thanks Barnyard, for all your wisdom along with the other experts here over the years while I rebuilt two Cubs. I must have not been paying attention because I did not know that Rudi was gone. For almost ten years no less. I always knew Rudi's manual server.... :)

You lament that you are trying to scale down from 50 Cubs but no one is buying. So, me being selfish, worry that Cub used parts or even new parts are going to dry up soon. (10 years? 15?)

My affection for the Cub is rightly because of my family history but I also think that the Cub is the most tractor-y looking tractor around. Kinda like the Saturn 5 is the most rocket-y looking rocket ever.

The Cub is such a beautiful, yet simple machine, that every question you could possibly have has been answered a zillion times over. So the forum activity goes down because of the "search" function. I still enjoy reading everyone's posts.

I guess time goes by and people and tastes change. My son (18) is deep into the Cub lore so he will be one of the fanbase to keep it going for another generation.

Peace,
rp

Chatterbox? Yep. Also a moderator. Also one who is deep into cubs. One who has a lot of knowledge about cubs. I think you share this distinction with Jim Becker. Anyway here is to another 25,000! 🍺 Verrn

25,000 posts , 2007 , and umpteen Cubs ; you're a long whiskered chatterbox.
And quite a resource here.
