HVAC Help

I have a Lennox system that is only 5 years old. Over the last two years the blower has acted very strange. It hesitates to come on. Check out the video. It sometimes takes up to 4 minuets to start blowing but once it starts it functions normally. I have it set to the Clean Air 24/7 setting and it runs that way with no issues.

Check out, trace the schematic for the furnace/AC. Check the inside of the front panel for the wiring diagram.

Some A/C systems have a wait time, several minutes, before the A/C system starts up and the blower comes on. During the wait time, the blower should be off.

If you are unable to follow the wiring schematic and do not have the equipment of diagnose the problem - - call the A/C repairman.

I know that's kind of a crappy answer. The repairman will be expensive, but not as expensive as throwing parts at the furnace/A/C.

Eugene, I have paid the $200 for a repair man to just scratch his head and fix nothing...from the same company that installed it too.

BigHoss, my thoughts also but if there is a capacitor in there it's behind the panel where I can't see it...see pic.

:tractor: Untill my recent health problems I was over maintenance at my church. Many capacitors were changed because of systems like yours. Your unit will have a start capacitor somewhere.

Or at the compressor, the outdoor unit. Problem appears to be electrical, BUT could be mechanical or a combination of electrical and mechanical. You have electrical and mechanical components inside the furnace/ac and inside the compressor unit.

What is the manufacturers model number and other identification? Perhaps they have the wiring diagram on line.

Are we talking about a split or pkge unit? I am thinking of a split unit where the capacitor is located near the air handler motor

Should be close to the air handler blower motor.

I down loaded a wiring diagram from the cabinet's model number. It's not complete. Appears to be for the installer to add to/make up the heating/cooling system for the house.

The wiring diagram indicated a B with the explaination of blower motor. No blower motor shown or indicated in the wiring diagram.

I know I'm late to the party, lightning strike to computer. I used my cellphone to broadcast thru my smart TV with sound provided by my Bose Wave Machine. That is bad windings in the motor. Note the noise it's in a pattern and increases with speed plus towards the end of video the fan blades go forward a couple of inches and then in the opposite direction a couple of inches. It's trying to index itself to the windings. Right before it takes off and runs. Needs a new motor. Hope this helps. Pardon any spelling or grammar mistakes. Hard to type on this tiny phone keyboard.
