Hub City PTO Reverser/Reducer

I'm trying to identify a Hub City 22 PTO Reverser/Reducer. I'm not sure if I have a 22IH (02-20-01301) speed reducer or a 22LB (02-20-01302) speed reducer. I think I have the 22LB (02-20-01302) speed reducer. I believe the only difference is in the cast iron adaptor ring on the PTO side of the unit. Any experts out there have any input? Thanks

The Hub City #22 gear boxes all use the same housing whatever the ratio. If you don't already know, checking the ratio is a good idea as they did make both reversers and reducers.

The top three fit a cub, 154 loboy, and a cub cadet. Bottom two are for other brand tractors.

At one time, I had two of these. The red one fit a 154 and the white one fit a cub. None fit the 184 without modification.

It is supposed to have a plate on it that identifies its serial and ratio.

Heres the 1 I have for a Cub

The cast iron ring would seem to indicate it's either for a 154 Lo-Boy or a Cub Cadet, not an FCub. The 154 Lo-Boy would be a reducer/reverser while the Cub Cadet would be a reverser only so counting the revolutions should tell you which you have.

Have you turned the shafts and counted the revolutions of both to verify it is a reducer, and not just a reverser? It being the same size on both ends is why I asked.
Yes I've checked it and it is a reducer as well.

Thanks guys! It appears that the one I have is for a 154 as it sits or could be used for an F-Cub with a fabricated bracket.

I thought I had seen one mounted on a Cub with the cast bracket. Can anyone else weigh in on this. The Cub Cadet mounts with the cast bracket. Same style PTO as an F-Cub. Why not? Maybe it has something to do with the reduction increasing the possible torque?

Sorry Ricky, I am not very familiar with them, and had seen some from other companies that had different size housings.

See if the holes on the cast adapter line up with any on the cub transmission housing. To install, you would mount the cast adapter first, then attach the reducer to the cast mount. Each pair of holes on the cast mount are spaced differently.

The cub bracket is a simple L-shaped piece of flat stock steel. It has 4 holes in it and an arc ground out of one side to clear the housing.

Since neither mount fit a 184 I took the white one to a fabricator and had a bracket made.
