This is more of a how-NOT-to than a how-to. Please folks, don't try this at home. We need a good and proper video to show how to SAFELY split a Cub.
Any volunteers?

I have split Merlin so many times that I don't care to repeat the procedure again. I can say for certain that the splitting done in the video is an accident waiting to happen! No wedges in the front bolster, a chain holding the rear end of the tractor in the air, nothing blocking the rear wheels from rolling.... WOW.

The guy's delivery is funny and humorous, but the potential "fall"out from this splitting could have been very NOT funny and UN-humorous!

Plus the chain is tossed over a tree limb. Not knowing what type of tree (strength), and how large and the condition of the limb, it could easily break and crush someone or their foot.

The plow is still on the draw bar, maybe its a counter weight.I would love to see him line it up. Looks like engine
droped 6'' or 8 ''

Notice that this guy never did post a follow-up video with his tractor back together again.... maybe it is still hanging from a tree someplace in the USA???

We did a much better job of splitting Rufus at Cecil's last fall. A gantry lift is sure better than a tree. It would have taken me forever to get it back together if I had done it at home by myself.

At least he seems to understand that he could have problems putting it back together.

I just split my 57 Lo boy and was quite surprise how easy it is to roll around the rear half with one hand on the bell housing its light for sure, the jack and blocks on the front half is scary  ..........

I like the fact that he knew it was the throw-out bearing ahead of time before splitting it, but then proceeds to say it will be a few days before the new part arrives from NAPA.........maybe he should have had part in hand before tackling this so it is not hanging on the tree for 3 days....  :D
