Handfull of 154 questions

Hi! Just bought a 71' 154 loboy, did a handful of work to tidy it up.

When I put her back together I could only shift from 1<->R but couldnt get other gears, worked before I had the panels off. Figured maybe the lever got misaligned from dangling around, or maybe it'll just work fine next time I use it lol

Only other thing was a rear engine oil leak, I saw the oil pump is located there but figured it was probably the rear main seal. Didnt investigate as its not a bad leak but any direction would be nice for whenever I do!

Any info or anything is appreciated, I already have the owner and service manuals but those dont have the know-how like yall!

Hi,
All the gears need to be in neutral before you put the shifter on the transmission, and the end of the shaft with the ball in the right place.

If you have a rear main seal leak check out forum member tst for an excellent upgraded retainer and seal. You won't regret it. JMHO Stan
