H fan belt

How do you tighten the fan belt and the one going to the generator on an H? Thanks for any help. 8)

The water pump pulley on the H is a variable width pulley. There is a setscrew in the side of the pulley. Loosen it and use a soft drift to tighten or close up the gap in the pulley halves.
I believe the generator belt is tightened by the generator position.

I don't know about later ones, but earlier H had an adjustable pulley on generator also.

You are both right, but you forgot to tell about the sheves are usually rusted shut and are VERY easily broken,---may be awfully hard to find nowdays, as most of them broke because no-one ever lubed them and worked them as part of normal tractor maint.!! thanks; sonny
