H carburetor fuel line

I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Cub. 5/16 steel line with 1/2 x 20 compression nut.

Does the fuel line have to have a twist in it as the original fuel line or can it go straight to the carburetor.. I created a rubber fuel line. And I think that might be part of the problem with my power issue that I've been having.

The loop in the fuel line is put there to prevent vibration and other stresses from causing the line to crack, it has nothing to do with engine performance. That's not any part of the problem.

I made a steel line that had the curve in it, just like the original. Don’t think I’d ever use a rubber line.

No I have not done a tune-up yet. But I did take it to a tractor guy named Bates City tractor here in Missouri. he is giving me a little bit of a run around says he is going to check it on Tuesday here. After he told me last week he was going to check it on Monday. It still has low power issues.
As near as I can figure out it was fuel not getting to the carburetor. I went to Bates City tractor who was completely useless. After them having my tractor for 3 months. Walk to the back of the building tried to start my tractor it was empty of gas. They left the damn fuel pump open. I put more gas in it I tried to start it nothing happened. I got the brilliant idea of opening the fuel valve on the carburetor and no fuel came out so I lifted my fabricated fuel line and lo and behold fuel start pulling it out. I close the fuel valve on the carburetor and my tractor started right up. I drove it onto my trailer with not one issue. We're before it had no power. Since then I have been using it to brush hog and a variety of other duties including pulling other tractors.John59":2daich5s said:Did you find out what the issue was? I’m curious to know.

Unless you have a non-original setup, there is no fuel pump on a Farmall H; all gravity system. And I believe the "fuel valve" you referred to is actually the drain plug. Sounds like you had a sag in your rubber fuel line. That's one of the hazards of a flexible fuel line. Change that fuel line out to a steel one and make sure there's positive slope toward the carb and you won't have any fuel supply issues.

Yeah it's amazing how so simple of a predicament can cause such issues. I will be changing it out at some point. Got to get a 6 volt coil for my newest tractor
