Guide wheels for a 3160 mower deck

Hello,

Bought my first Farmall a week ago and love it. My grandpa always had Farmalls on his farm and since i'm buying my fiance's parents place with 3.5 acres decided I needed one to mow with.

Anyways, question I have is the mower deck that came with the Cub is a 3160 deck, it is fully functional but it is missing the guide wheels. Was wondering if there is a source for these or if there is another bolt on wheel that will work.

Most 3160 mower decks are suspended beneath a Numbered Cub Low-Boy. Is your tractor a standard Cub, Cub Low Boy, or a Numbered Cub Low-Boy?

I have a 3260 mower deck mounted on a 154 Numbered Cub Low-Boy. No guide wheels. The mower deck just hangs on the mounting brackets.
 
Depending on "how deep your pockets are", the wheels are available in most any size that you want--solid, semi-pneumatic, tubeless, tube type. Try a search for "casters" at an industrial supplier like McMaster Carr, WW Grainger, others. They also might have the frame/yoke that you need. Another source could be an aftermarket manufacturer of mowers like Kingcutter, BigBee, and there are lots of others. Also try a "WANTED" add on THE VINE classified forum. Stan
 
Gauge wheels. Pop up frequently on the internet for Cub Cadet 3160 mower deck. Depending on what type wheels you want/need the price isn't bad to expensive. Kits are also available including the mounting brackets.

Try your local NAPA or Federated auto parts store, Power Equipment Products catalog for small engines, mowers, etc.. Another local source is your hardware store(s) and small engine shops. I have obtained gauge wheels for Cub Cadet mowers from the auto parts store as well as the hardware store.

As Stan states you will need to know the size, type, bearing(s), and axle size.
 
Just noticed that you joined the forum yesterday, welcome to the FORUM. There's lots of information that you will find useful, like owners/operation/service/parts/attachments manuals at the top of this page. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 3160 mower was first available for the numbered series tractors. A manual for these is under NUMBERED SERIES CUBS folder/attachments. Do you have a picture of the mower/tractor setup? That and a little description might help understand how you want the guide wheels to work. Stan

I'm wanting the wheels to help set the height but also carry some of the weight as opposed to the hydraulic system (which has been rebuilt). I was looking around and it looks like I can get a complete Woods 59 bracket and caster and guessing this will work?

The gauge wheels and front roller, if the mower deck has one, is more to prevent the mower from scalping rather than carrying the weight of the mower deck.

I have 3 different belly mounted mower decks for IH Cub tractors and 4 for Cub Cadets. The mower deck weight is carried on the mounting brackets and the hydraulic system or manual lift system.
 
Nice looking Cub. You can probably make the WOODS parts work. Here's a mfg brochure of a PENNINGTION mower on a CUB CADET to give you some ideas. Pennington cubcadet p3.JPG
