Ma family member has a cub they purchased several years ago that has only been used to cultivate garden. Late last summer if the plows were in ground it would go dead from lack of power. We installed an original carb from a known working cub and had the same results. We started looking at it again today and noticed if you move the throttle lever wide open the shaft from the Governor to carb linkage moves toward the front of tractor. If you place the throttle lever at idle it moves toward the rear of tractor. Looking at a known working cub the shaft moved forward at idle and toward the rear at open throttle. Is there something that could have been installed inside the Governor wrong that would cause this. He did say since he has had it there was really no throttle response. He just left the throttle midway and was using it like that until it started stalling and shutting off under a load.
