Hi all,
I'm selling my Dad's 1948 Farmall Cub. He bought it in 1965 and did a complete engine rebuild over the years. He was a mechanical engineer and former machinist who designed jet engines at GE, flew B-24's and he loved tinkering with any kind of engine. I've had the tractor about 10 years and finally decided to get it ready to sell. I have a 1947 Cub that is my working tractor for logging and snow plowing.
When I was going through it, I found the transmission case had cracked, and someone years ago had tried to repair it poorly. It was leaking, and I didn't want to sell it that way. I found a replacement transmission case on eBay with matching part and R# and rebuilt the transmission using parts from Dad's original. It now has a solid case, shifts well, and has no leaks, no noise. Lights are included but not connected. Battery good. New belts, fan lubricated, all grease fittings lubed.
The engine has a new carburetor, starts easily on first try, runs well, has good compression, and doesn't smoke. New Oil and filter, and fresh 90w in the steering and transmission, new antifreeze, good tires,. I replaced the ignition switch. Needs paint. Nothing really wrong with this tractor now. Ready to go to work or restore.
It comes with the original belly mounted 54" Woods mower, which is included in the asking price of $3,200, $3000 without the mower.
I'm located south of Dayton, Ohio.
