Fixing steering wobble in the 300

Decided to tackle the steering wobble on the 300.
Just wondering what all parts I need to order. Watched the Steiner video, the worm gear is a full gear so I could flip it around, just wondering what else I should get. Or how I should approach this.

Also the large nut that goes on the steering column is tapered and stuck on, how do you suggest getting it off?

Is the 300 a row crop or utility tractor?

The bearings in some row crop tractor's pedestal wear and cause a wobble.

As I said the hardest part right now for me is to figure out how to get the nut off of the front end (Pedestal) where the gearing is for the wheels to slide out the steering wheel rod.

EDIT: The wobble only happens when in 5th gear going down the road and doesn't happen the entire time. Slower speeds its fine. Just like in the Steiner video. There feels like there is slop from where the worm gear on the steering wheel meshes with the gear in the steering box.

I know I'm a little late, but here's what I did on mine to fix the "death wobble":

1. Flipped the steering gear 180'.
2. Put 2 big flat washers on top of it and tightened the pi$$ out of the king nut.
3. Couldn't afford new worm gear, but bought a new u-joint and put 1 or 2 washers on the end of the worm gear, which tightened it up great.

Its not too bad a job, just takes a little time. The steering gear can be hard to get off sometimes. I put a piece of 2x4 on top of the (loosened) nut, and hit it HARD one time with a 10lb hammer. Like spike-driving hard. That usually does the trick.

I've said this before, but your 300 sure is nice. A lot nicer than my old workhorse. I've recently developed a hyd. leak under the dash that I'll have to fix this winter. Oh well, something all the time.
