New here so thought I would post up a couple of photos. Just acquired two cubs. These are photos of the one that does not run. So far new battery (6v); points; plugs; wires; and carburetor. Old carb was leaking gas from main jet which I found was stripped. Not sure that can be repaired? This unit came with a bush hog but not sure of the model. Tractor sat for several years so taking things apart is a challenge. Found cylinder #1 with 60 psi and jumped to 110 wet; hoping some Sea Foam will free up the rings some. Not sure if the hydraulics work yet or how the trans sounds. If I can get it started and driving around the yard will service those items next. Believe a radiator is needed soon also.

Welcome to the forum. It looks like you have a couple of good winter projects lined up. Save the old carb, it can be repaired. If your new one is the chinese repro, you need to make sure the float is set correctly and there is an air hole drilled into the air intake end by the choke butterfly (often not drilled).

Welcome! There is enough knowledge here to fill multiple Books of Cub. I’ve only had them back to 1969 when Pop bought the first one used from the original owner. It still has repairs that Pop did 50+ years ago that are still fixed.
These tractors were designed with slide rules and built by craftsmen. Their longevity is amazing. When your primary mowing machine turned 60 this year and it does the job as well as any ‘modern’ machine…gives lots of smiles.
