Have an opportunity to bid on a spike tooth harrow for my fast hitch cub at a local auction.
What is a reasonable bid?
How much is too much?
It appears to be in good shape.

Heres 1 that I have, You should buy it. They are Rare!

Yeah they are pretty rare, I paid $90 for mine and it is complete. Not sure what they would go for normally, they are
not too common.

Here is a video we did first time using it. Some springs needed replacing so that will explain the visegrips. lol
Takes some getting used to. They are big and float off the back.

Have 3 - 6' sections left out a 4 section. Could easily be converted to FH - pull one section behind the cub, 2 sections behind the B! Probably a few of them leaning against the Machine shed wall - not used anymore here in central IL! Worked this one out for a neighbor 10 or 12 years ago - sold one section off! Does a great job of leveling! If you want more aggressive action just wire a post across it! LOL!!

Ok, went back to get a picture.
What do you think?
Is this a homemade job? It has no markings.
What is it worth?

Yup. Someone added the fast hitch to one section of a spike toothed harrow. The holes are present where the section attached to the evener.

If you need and can use one, perhaps $30-. If you don't need one - then nothing.

Here's the video of our auction preview. It's all farmall. The spike tooth harrow is in it as well and you can see two places where a minor repair is needed. My father-in-law thinks about $25.00 should get it. They also have some cubs for sale, but nothing jumped out at me.

Since it is a homemade conversion of a who knows what kind of harrow, it clearly has little collector value. However, it looks to me like it could be useful in a garden. I wouldn't mind having something like it for my garden. Northern Tool has their ATV drag harrow that looks like a hunk of chain link fence. It has a price around $100. This thing ought to be worth half that.

I appreciate your point here. I am not a collector. My tractors are working tractors. If I can get the spike tooth harrow for a song, I'll put it to work here and there.

Today is auction day. We will video and see what things go for. Will post a link here on the forum if anyone is interested.
