Farmall Super A Running Again

Well, it took a bit of work, but the Super A that my Grandfather bought new in 1949 is running smoothly again after many years! Several of the valves and tappets were frozen, and the starter motor, magneto, and carb needed some work. My daughter helped time the magneto, change the radiator hoses, set valve clearance, and gap the plugs. We'll paint it when it warms up a bit more.

You don't need a part number... Just fill out this form and send it in.

Now do you want to do my SA for me????? LOL!! LOL!! --- yours looks great! ( so does daughter! Great to have help)

Thanks, folks. I was glad to have my daughter's help putting on the decals. They aren't perfect, but at least far better than the originals, that were too badly weathered to read. I didn't find a decal source that had the "IH" symbol next to the "McCormick-Deering" label, so had to piece two decals together. My restoration book said that wouldn't be correct for my 1949 Super A, but it can be seen in my family's old photos of the tractor.

You are correct with the decals including Deering. 1949 was the breaking point. I have three 1949 C's and they all had Deering included. The very late 49's could have been different. Nice job.
