Hey Guys, have a farmall M here, it needs hydraulic oil, smells like engine oil in there now, book no help, anyone know what is suppose to be used in this systems ?

Originally they used a non-detergent SAE 10 motor oil (My dad always used SAE 20). The original SAE 10 is hard to find now and a detergent oil is not a good substitute. All the previous discussions of using Hy-Tran are applicable. If it is going to share equipment with a more modern tractor, follow the recommendations of the modern tractor so you don't contaminate it.
