Hi I have a 1948 Farmall cub tractor and had some some problems with the clutch and the clutch linkage does anyone know if u have to split the tractor to get access to these parts?

to work on the clutch yes it needs to be split, some parts of the linkage can be adjusted without a split,

Hi,
Cubs have a clutch pedal free play adjustment. You could check the free play and see if it is right.
The free play is measured at the surface where you put your foot.
IH changed the free play adjustment method during 1948, at Cub serial number 32229.
Before that number the adjustment is internal, you have to turn a yoke on the rod inside the housing.
After that number the adjustment is external, at the base of the clutch pedal.
You didn't say the serial number of the Cub.
Below is a page from the 1947 Cub owner's manuals, showing the 1st style of adjustment.

Below is a page from the 1950 Cub owner's manual showing the 2nd style of adjustment.

There should be return springs for all 3 pedals under the platform, to hold them up against the edge of the platform. :)
