Fan Hub Rebuild

Well, the front main oil seal started leaking pretty badly so I started tearing down the front of the tractor (a super AV named "Dewey"). Radiator, governor and steering all need attention so I figured on rebuilding/refreshing all the front components since they all have to come off. Everything so far has come off pretty easily. I am sure the fan drive pulley will be a bear when I get to that part.

For now I'm focused on rebuilding the fan hub. There don't seem to be any parts or pieces for the fan hub available for sale but everything except the gaskets seem to be in good shape. I found two gaskets when I disassembled it. I can make new ones easy enough. My question is this: Is there some sort of gasket or seal that goes between the shaft and the pulley assembly at the back end (nearest the engine)? Where the pencil is pointing in the second picture below? Seems like the metal on metal contact would lead to leaks and wear. But I didn't find anything in that spot when I took the assembly apart.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

No gasket or seal there. That system, just like the Cub, uses a static oil level well below the shaft and centrifugal force when the fan is turning, to prevent leakage between the shaft and pulley.

Don't store the fan assembly with the blades up... it'll pee all the oil out! BTDT. I thought it had a bad seal.

My fan on the 100 locked up on me. I replaced it with a new sealed bearing type, much better. Will do the same on the Cub and 300 when I restore them.
