Eye Glasses

Went today, they advertised 89.00 for two pairs and same day for most prescriptions. I knew it would be more for progressive and transition lenses but it ended up being 588.00 for one pair and two weeks.

Perhaps false advertising, perhaps not. What does the ad read?

The store should have advised of you the total cost before purchase.

Wife just infomed me that we spent $500- and something for my last pair of glasses. I require a "slab cut'' for my right eye lens. I have a scolario buckle, a rubber band on right eye ball.

Well progressive and transition lenses are expensive. I bought a pair several years ago for almost 600. Not anymore. Go as basic as I can get as long as the frames are good. I’m tough on eyeglasses.

I get my glasses from the V.A. clinic. The glasses and progressive lens are no charge but I I have to pay for transition lens. Last year that was over $300 option. That option has really skyrocketed over the last couple years. I’ll still get it though, maybe just not as often. I can get new ones every year but I think every 2 years is about right.

I think every 2 years will work also. My current pair is going on 2-1/2 years, but I am starting to see some surface scratching and hazing on the lenses that affect vision. May be from the coatings that are applied.
