Engine rebuild kit

Cubenstein, my daughters 69 Cub, is in serious need of a rebuild. Compression is even but low. Blowby is consistent and strong. I can buy A&I kits from my workplace. Will they work ok, or do I need to look at a different rebuild option? (While I'd love for her to win the Tug, this Cub gets used more than any other tractor on the farm. Wood splitter, trailer, and mid mount snow blade in the winter, sickle bar mower for road ditches and a 9 year old's ride in the summer this year.

As far as I know, the A&I parts are ok, but it depends on how much work is necessary. If the cylinder walls & crank measure up good & all you need is a simple ring & valve job, it may be best to order the parts separately. If, on the other hand, it requires the attention of a machine shop, you should discuss the best approach with them. They can get you exactly the parts needed, often saving you cash in the process. They may even suggest that you order the kit as some shops, that don't do a lot of tractor work, may not have a ready source for those parts.

Since Slo works for one of those (ahem) green tractor dealers I think he may have access to what he needs to check things out. Being an "old" tractor puller he has lots of experience trying to keep that old Moline running. It is funny that the cub is the most used tractor on his place! I'm surprised that the MMonster lets him drive it that much! :D :D :D
