Cub implement questions

Does anyone know if the Cub implements will work on a Super AV or C tractor cultivator bars? I'm wondering if they have the same length shafts as the taller tractors.

It would be helpful in this and your other post, if you told us what specific implements you are asking about. But, generally, the answer is likely to be No, because of the size differential between the tractors.

"Implements" is a name for complete attachments like a plow, disk, cultivators, planter, hay rake, baler, etc etc

Sounds like your looking for information directly related to cultivators.

The big square bars of a cultivator set is called the tool bars.

The round part that holds the individual cultivating tool is called the shank(s)

Individual cultivating tools can be sweeps, shovels, spring tines (C tines, S tines)!

I believe your question is directed at the cultivator shanks.

I believe the shanks can be interchanged between a Super A, Super C and the Cub.

Yes, I am referring to the "tools" that attach to the shanks, that attach to the tool bars. I have heard them called "sweeps, plows, furrower, bedders, cultivators, hillers, and a few other names that don't come to mind right now. Names vary based on where they are located I have found. In Florida we call a pull behind gang of disc a disc, in Ga and Al they are called a harrow.

I believe the shanks can be interchanged between a Super A, Super C and the Cub.

Super AV too I believe!

I have not set them up side by side to compare, but it looks like some of the belly mount tool bars on C are the same as the Cub

SamsFarm, thanks for the information. I'll try to take a look at it too see what it needs. I know the battery is at least 5-10 yrs old. Not sure what/where mechanics tools, battery charger, etc are here at the farm. I know it has a rear tire that is seperating, and a fuel leak at the bowl under the tank according to FIL. I know there are a couple of battery chargers here, but don't know if any are working. I'll probably see if I can get a spark before going too far with it. He has an old Cole planter that should be able to modify if I can rig up a drawbar. I would love to put in a garden with it, but might be 2-3 yrs recovering expenses if it needs tires. LOL I have several welders, plasma cutter, lathe, milling machine, and all of my tools at home, but that's all 500 mile away.

They are probably at least partly the same. The catch is that all of them on one individual cultivator are not the same. On the Cub and Super A, the front ones closest to the row are shorter than the others. That is probably so for the C as well.

Thanks Jim. I wish there was a YT video of someone setting up a Farmall and doing row crops. Everything from turning with a bottom plow, discing, planting with a planter, and cultivating with the different sweeps, chisels, and furrowing plows.

I saw one channel, maybe Farmall Fanatic that used a 2 row bottom plow, then went back over it a couple of days later with a 6 or 7 foot double disc. I was surprised that the little Farmall pulled the double bottom plow, then lifted the double disc in the next video. I don't remember if it was a Super A, or Super C but impressed the heck out of me.

I have used my A with a two bottom little genius , did 4 acres with it. Second gear was about perfect in my ground . You could feel the hard spots in the clay for sure.

I think my FILaw has a little genius 2 bottom plow. He said it's a 3 bottom plow. I need to go check it out for sure. I am surprised at how well the little Farmall's pull these plows.

The parts or attachments your talking about that attach to the shang's of the cultivators are generic and can be shared between the tractors. There the same things that you would have on other brands as well. The sweeps are not manufacturer specific, the same ones bolt to JD, Oliver, Farmall .

Thanks for the info. Still on the hunt for a tractor, but back in Central Fl now. I'll have to work on the SAV when we go back in a couple of weeks.

You want to use your shorter shanks on the center position and adjust them so when you raise them up they will not hit the oil pan. Agri supply has a good selection of new sweeps, teeth and shanks. The have several stores in the SE.
