Cub Choke Lever Dimensions

Hey fellas, my choke lever that attaches to the back of the carb and to the choke rod broke sometime ago. Does any know the overall length and center to center measurements for the holes? I want to make my own but I threw my old one away so I can't get the measurements.

I don't have one out where I can measure it. TM makes a replacement.

NEVER throw an old part away before you have a replacement. Rule one of working on old stuff.

Here's one I made from aluminum. https://farmallcub.com/community/threads/ih-carb-choke-lever.119895/ Stock was 3/8 x 4 bar and I used a 3/4 x 1 x1/4 piece for the lever. Centered up the 2 holes and matched the sizes to the shaft. 3/16 for the rod and choke shaft but fit the shaft tight so the clamp will hold. 8-32 screw for the clamp screw and after drilling, tapped the threads. Cut the slot for the clamp with a hacksaw. After it was finished I finished sizing the piece to 5/16 thick by 5/8 wide by 1 1/8 long. A drill press helps to keep the holes aligned perpendicular to the horizontal and vertical axis. Not too difficult, probably about 2 hrs. Stan
EDIT: I sent you an email with some info.

Thank Stan.

(y) Yours looks good! After I got mine cut and drilled/tapped, I just eyeballed the contours at the lower end. Stan
I was going to put the contours on but there doesn't seem to be a need to. I was going to make it all fancy but lost the ambition and just wanted to get it done. While I have everything out I thought about making another for a spare.

Here are some I made.

They are not a perfect copy, but close.

The one in the lower left darker colored is an original.

The black things are carbon electrodes used in an edm machine.IMG_2241.jpeg

Very nice!
Do you still have any of those left & are you willing to sell a couple?!
I'm working on getting a carburetor cleaned up for a friend and it could use a choke lever so that I don't have to steal one from another carb!

The choke lever was missing on my '48 Cub. I installed a new choke lever a while ago.
I purchased it on-line as an original Farmall Cub lever (?).
It stopped working shortly after.
I discovered that it was slipping on the shaft.
The choke shaft on my carb is splined, that is, it has grooves running along its length.
I'm supposing that's to give the lever good grip on the choke shaft.
But the lever has no splines & it lost its grip after a few uses.
With some experimenting I found that it doesn't grip tightly enough. The 2 legs meet & stop tightening before it has a good grip on the shaft.
Using a fine Dremel wheel, I ran it up the space between the legs of the lever to open that space.
Re-installed & tightened well, it is good now.
Also, I will be more careful in the future when pulling the choke rod.
I notice that the rod both pushes & pulls beyond the range of the lever.
That is, when pulling the rod (to close the choke) the lever reaches full choke position but the rod is still pulling further.
That will certainly tend to loosen the lever.

I just re-read this post.
I hope, with all the 'lever/rod/shaft' references, it's not too confusing.
