Cub Cadets at farm auction

Went to a farm auction today was able to aquire 3 cub cadets,A 108,122 and a 124,124 has a snow blade mower deck and a tiller all not running,124 had about a 1/2 tank of fuel smelt good so I checked all fluids and jump started it. Was a little dificult to start ran it a little while and roto tilled my Wifes garden a lot easier than my Troy Bilt Horse but it takes a lot of effort to raise and lower Tiller.
108 has hydro. lift all generator starters work,will need to clean gas tanks on the other two befor I try to start them
There was a red one there hydrostat non runner also didn't have room on the trailer so I let some one else have it. Sold for 350.00 dollars
Will try to post pictures later didn't get any of the red one,left camera at home.
 
Congrats on the cadets. You may want to take the carbs off and give them a cleaning. They get pretty bad if left with gas in them.
 
yes 124 has a creeper gear,done a great job tilling no strain at all has a 14 HP engine Have all three running now 108 hydraulic lift works great but starter generator starts but dosn't charge had brken wire at reg. may have bad field coil because of that,It has a creeper gear to. May have to get help on pictures though.

Oh the joy of bringing them back to life! :{_}: Congratulations, sounds like you have a good fleet started!

The 124 has a replacement 14 HP in it? Did they notch the frame? I guess you have a 144 now! :wink:

Congrats on the cub cadet fleet you purchased. It's funny how a little attention will make each one run. To my no one uses a fuel stabilizer in the fall during there winters nap. I use seafoam every fall. By spring the startup goes so great it's like they never slept.

I have a cc104 that was parked at a few years old probably because of bad gas. After removing the head to free up a stuck valve from sitting for many decades I noticed no ridge at the top of the cylinder and the orginal honing stone marks were still in the cylinder walls. The tractor is still like new. After installing a new head gasket, cleaning the points, the carb and gas tank she runs like a new cub cadet. For only $150 with a mower deck and snow plow plus the cost of a head gasket and battery I have one of the best cadets in my fleet. To me this cadet in this condition to me is worth $1,200.


The cub cadet ride on tiller is a life saver. I drop the tiller just enough to break the sod on the new untilled grass. I make the first pass shallow. The second pass I go a little deeper. By the third pass she's as deep as shell go. My cc100 has a tired engine but she's still tilling. It's so nice to ride while the garden tractor does this heavy task. I've walked behind fillers for many decades. I found a complete tiller setup for $150.
