Cub Cadet Original

Slim140

501 Club
My brother bought this a few years back and gave it to my son when he was almost 3 years old. I got it running and it runs great. Made some rear fenders, front bumper and added some lights all the way around. Serial #7481. I would love to put a V-twin in it and paint it but I will wait until our son gets older and see what he wants to do to it, after all it is his.

Nice fabricating job on the fenders and bumper.

Just me, I would keep the tractor as original as possible.

Nice looking O, I am with Eugene on keeping it Original (pun there?)... it is a 4-digit with a PTO :{_}: , making it more desirable. Important thing is your son has an interest and you are enjoying time with him.

It looks like the K161 engine with a larger paper air filter housing (would have had an oil bath to begin with and the paper housings for the 7 hp was usually smaller).

Thanks for sharing,

It didn't have a filter on it at all when my brother bought it at auction. I got that one from a friend of mine who has some Cadets just so we could drive it around. Yeah I would love to restore it but I am gonna wait until our son gets big enough to help so he appreciates it more. He just turned 4 but he loves to ride it around the yard, my brother came over yesterday and they rode it. I want him to know where it came from. Our son also has a John Deere 110 with mowing deck my dad gave him, I tell him he is blessed.

I am blessed beyond words!!! My son loves everything and anything to do with anything that makes noise. Reminds me so much of me, lol. He wants to go outside if it's 10 degrees or 110 degrees and "dig". He has small tractors, loaders, backhoes, trackhoes etc. and loves to pretend he's building something. A man told me before my wife and I had kids "when your kids are small your to busy to spend time with them, when they're grown they're to busy to spend time with you". It's so true and I try to include him in most everything I do at home or can take him with me to do something. Our daughter is only 6 months old and not doing much other than sitting up. This picture is of him "helping" me change the oil in the skidsteer the other day. He couldn't see the oil going into the funnel from the ground so he climbed in and was watching.
