Cub Cadet 7000 Series compact tractors

If my memory serves me well, the Cub Cadet compacts were built by Yanmar. Depending on series, there were transmission issues. I can't remember what series had the issues.

Hopefully someone on here, who has a lot more knowledge on the CC compacts, will chime in with better and more accurate info.

I also remember some info in the news media about YANMAR buying the CUB CADET tractors but that's been a long time ago, before I ever started doing anything with tractors so it's of no importance or help other than I'm sure it's true. Google Yanmar Cub Cadet tractors and there's a RED POWER magazine link to a forum back around 2009 with some information. Also here's a brief description from tractordata.com on the topic:

The Cub Cadet brand began as International Harvester's garden tractor line, which was sold to MTD in 1981. In 1993, Mitsubishi compact tractors were imported into North America under the Cub Cadet brand. In 2006, MTD and Yanmar entered an agreement to sell Yanmar compact tractors under the Cub Cadet Yanmar brand. The agreement with Yanmar was modified in 2011, and Yanmar America assumed full control over the tractors. At that time the Cub Cadet name was dropped from compact tractors.

This is all just info and does not help very much but it supports the explanations that I've always heard that in the early 1980's most of not all the American name brand tractors under 40/50 hp were far eastern imports . I even have a Simbarau made Ford 14hp 3 cyl LGT diesel from about 1988 when New Holland acquired the Ford line. Sorry, that's all just verbage. Stan
