I will look for one on Facebook to see what I can find, although I just purchased a 20 ton press from HF to press out my axles from my cub, so I can do it if I need to.

You can place an ad here on The Vine. If I’m not mistaken, quite a few members in Ohio on this forum.

David, I don’t know how much of a road trip you’re interested in making but I am about a dozen miles East of Bellefontaine Ohio and I have the remains of a Cub 22 parts mower. I have the drive shaft with tube and Pittman wheel. Complete cutter bar with guards and inner castings. Gone are the rear pulley, Pittman, drag bar, transport rod and probably some things I’ve forgotten. It’s all well rusted from life outdoors. I forgot, there’s 2 cutter bars. The deal is : you come and get it and take it all and it’s free. I’ve been cleaning up the area where it’s at and it would be nice if it were gone. Send me a DM if you’re interested.

I am not intending to hijack this thread, but since the topic is sickle mowers, can someone explain to me the purpose of the square plate? I have attached three pictures - the stock TM photo showing the plate, and the next two are mine where the the welded bolt has broken off. The follow up question being, does anyone have one of these I can purchase or is rewelding the bolt the best option?

It allows adjustment of the belt tension. I'd have a piece of all thread (or cut the head off of a bolt) welded there after grinding off the broken piece.

Hi,
The Cub implement parts manual says the plate with the adjusting bolt is part number 451765R95.
If you weld on a new threaded piece, the manual says it would be 1/2" with coarse threads.
It uses 2 jam nuts, 1 above the hole in the bracket, and 1 nut below. The nut below uses a lock washer. Tighten the 3/8" bolt through the adjuster after setting the belt tension.
Below is a picture of one, showing the length of the threads.
