Crop Shields question.

Can anyone tell me if I have these on correct. I have not tightened any bolts yet. As always. Thanks

most cub plant shields look like this, not sure what those are you have

I have looked the patent up on these before, and they were made by a small manufacturer.

These are an aftermarket part, made for use on the Farmall Cub, Super A, 100, 130, 140 and similar tractors.
 
Yes, they are aftermarket weeders designed to be used adjacent to the crop row on a tractor cultivator. It is a little disorienting to look at the pictures. But it appears to me that you have them mounted on the wrong side. You need to swap them left to right.

They are designed so that the blade mounted directly on the upright should be the front tool and the blade mounted on the L-shaped bracket runs behind the front one. The front blade should be angled so that it will draw some soil and weeds away from the row of plants. The second should be positioned/angled to throw soil back towards the row of plants, moderately hilling the row. It appears that if mounted so the front blade is set properly you shouldn't have to make any adjustments to the weeder assembly itself.

I'm not sure my explanation is clear. Post back any questions.

Many thanks. Will do that today. Will try and take a few less confusing pictures and post again.
 
they are not shields for sure ---- more like some funky sweeps that may or may not work. There were a LOT of aftermarket stuff out there back in the day and most were just a scam and didnt work as advertised.

You are 100% correct. Put my "real" sweeps on.
