I drive by this everyday on the way to work.

(phone camera does not do a good job!)

Peter, don't blame the phone or the operator. I alwyas got the same type shot. I found that the best way to photograph Christmas lights is to use a tripod or set the camera on something stationary. Even the slightest body movement will blur the lights. I think the same goes for a phone camera.
