Carb to air cleaner pipe hose for Zenith Carb

Everyone,

I have seen on here somewhere that someone, not TM or JP, stocks the rubber hose that is larger on one end than the other, so you can adapt the Zenith carb onto the standard Cub air cleaner pipe. I can't remember who the supplier is! Can somebody give me a name & contact info?

I bought one from TM several years ago. They have stopped carrying them. I don't think it was anywhere near $20 either!

Check with PWL (Phil) on this site. At one time he was making them.

I really like the looks of this conversion. It appears to be an earlier-model FCub with a new manifold (larger carb mounting flange). The Zenith mounts up perfect and the hose allows use of the original air cleaner-to-carb pipe. It looks great, real slick!

Thanx everybody, I will get up with Phil. My old one has split completely open--got it wrapped tight in electrical tape until I can get a new one--don't want to run it long the way it is. I like this better than just replacing the whole pipe with a rubber hose--looks more "original."

I do not have a cub with a zenith carb so I am not sure exactly what you need or the size but if you are looking for something like the connector that is in the photo, I have a suggestion. Plumbing adapters are available in a similar length and can match many different sizes. I am not sure how they would stand up to gasoline fumes but I expect they are made from nitrile which would do well. May be worth a try for a few dollars. Lowes, Home Depot, hardware stores should have them.

Previous owner of my Cub adapted the Zenith to the air cleaner by leaving a short length of the correct size hose connected to the air breather and putting a full length of hose from the carb (larger to fit the Zenith) to the breather....the larger inside diameter of the carb hose completely encompasses the O/D of the short length of hose from the breather like shim material. Hose within a hose. Looks like one piece on the outside and works well.
