Building a mini hay wagon for the Cub

If this is in the wrong forum please feel free to move it. I've wanted a flat wagon for a while now just to haul around stuff that's too big a pain to manhandle, such as the scaffolding I have to move around when trimming all the hedges, so when I saw this wagon for sale I thought "Hey, I could use the running gear to make a flat wagon" (which, of course, turned into a mini hay wagon). :D

It's approx 4'x7' and 100% PT wood. The outboard runners are 2x10, the center runner is a 2x4 notched into the cross supports. Cross supports are 2x10. Rear vertical supports are 2x4x4. All flat boards are 5/4 PT decking. 1/2x1 for the side toeboards and a 2x4 across the front.

Very nice mini wagon there! Your carpentry skills are much better than mine. Your's should be commended and mine should be condemned.

That wagon was originally sold by Tractor Supply as The 2in1 Monster Tractor Cart but they no longer carry it. However, they can be found used, as mine was. Just last week at the show in Bangor PA there was one for sale so they are around. It was also sold as the Groundwork Extra Heavy Duty Utility Trailer but has been discontinued.

Very nice.

Here’s mine. I was told that it was an old bomb wagon running gear. It might be. The thing has drum brakes on the back. It’s about 4.5’X8.5’

She’s a little heavy though. Without the sideboards she weighs 990 pounds. But I won’t ever break it.

That is a nice wagon and Heavy Duty!! May need someone to apply the brakes on the wagon to stop the tractor. LOL

Must be wagon season. I just finished this one yesterday. It's a 6x10, primary purpose will be for storing my slide-in camper for the winter.
