I have a 1976 model Cub I'm going to overhaul , where is the best place to get engine parts that's built in the USA I don't want any junk, I haven't miked the cyl yet but how much wear is allowed before you must bore the block? Thanks for any help and tips.

I prefer to take the engine to a trusted machine shop that knows the C60 engine. The shop can properly and accurately measure the condition of the block, crank, camshaft, valves, etc. and give a true estimate of needed repairs and quality parts. That way you should have a "new" engine and one with a warranty. Be prepared to pay for what you get though. It's usually not cheap but then neither is a new engine. Stan

Engine parts. Auto parts store or if you have a shop rebuild the engine, the rebuilder.

Maximum cylinder wear, .005".

Inspect, measure, and record, before making any purchases.

I see from your zip code that you are in NE Arkansas. I am also in this area. I used Hughey Auto Parts and Machine Shop (NAPA) in Jonesboro.

Thank y'all for the info, my brother has a machine shop in town so I just want to be sure I can buy good quality parts and not junk from China

I don't know if you can. It's not like there's enough demand for these parts that 30-40 different manufacturers produce them. Maybe one or two manufacturers in the world actually make Cub engine parts. Everyone that sells them just buys them from the supplier and puts their label on the box.

Keep in mind that made in China doesn't necessarily mean junk and made in USA doesn't necessarily mean good.

If it were me I would be happy with a kit that has a good reputation.

I got 2 kits from IH dealer, (1 for 574 and 1 for the 504 ) and he had 2 different price kits!---I probably have the china stuff but it looks well made, so I'm NOT gonna say that ALL import stuff is junk,---Most of the time that's all you can get! LOL!---its called world progress!!
