Battery testers

I am looking to get a digital battery tester for my car and truck. I figured I would look for one that does 6 & 12 volt batts. Does anyone use a digital unit themselves ,which one and how do you like it?

I use multimeters, analog and digital, to test batteries and charging systems. The analog on tractor charging systems and the digital multimeters for voltage drop tests and automotive charging systems.

schumacher battery tester is simple and does what you need it to do.

That’s what I use to check the battery itself.
I use a simple digital craftsman multi meter to check battery voltage at rest and with the engine running to verify alternator output.
A good 12v battery should show 12-1/2 volts and alternator output 14-1/2 volts.

There’s a couple different brands of battery testers that all look the same and probably are all the same. But I’ve come to trust the Schumacher name on battery related equipment.
