Battery for my farmall cub

Welcome to the forum, congratulations on obtaining your first Cub!

A Type 26R 12 volt battery will fit very nicely in an original size battery box. With that type you can search various sources.

Good luck,

There is only one place that sells a good battery box
Unique Design Workshop
830 South Main Street
DeGraff, Ohio 43318

Telephone: Norm Quay: (937) 585-6475

None of the others can match his workmanship.

Are you sure it has been converted to 12 volts,or did it just have a 12 volt battery for starting?

26R is what I've got in what's left of my battery box (missing the top and front). I think I gave about $50 for it last fall at Wally World.

Normally, when the conversion to 12 volt is made an alternator is installed in place of a generator. Check under the hood for an alternator.

I used 420CCA lawn mower batteries in my last two Cub battery replacements. They fit real nice in the battery box, have plenty of power to start the Cub in any weather, and are only $40.

Hi,
Rwschwartz, there are pics of the battery box in the Cub owner's manual that I posted before. If it is gone, the rear light might be gone too. The rear light mounted on the rear of the battery box. There are probably pics in the owner's manual.

Here is a listing for a new battery box at TM Tractor you can look at.

TM Tractor has the rear light mounting bracket too.
