Bat in the house

I had a Bat in the house. I opened the door but it wouldn't fly out. It finally landed on the floor and I threw a towel over it and released it outside.
I assume it got in from the attic somehow. The wife was freaking but now can't wait to tell everyone about it.

My sister had them in her attic and a pest control guy fleeced them good to get rid of them.
Save your money and don’t go that route.
Find out where their coming and going from first.
If you have them in your attic put lights up there you can turn on and off and put a loud radio you can turn on and off. Bats don’t like being disturbed And if they are they’ll find a new home. After their gone plug their entrances with wire mesh so it doesn’t happen again.

We had a few in the house when I was young.

I think for us it was that someone forgot to close the chimney damper for the fireplace!
