Bald Eagles

I saw these 2 bald eagles in a dead pine tree 100’ from my house in Wisconsin. Not a great picture but I had to take it through the window screen or they would have flown when I opened my noisy patio door. I’ll be sorry when that old dead tree falls. I’ve seen eagles and Pileated woodpeckers in it before.

It’s not unusual to see eagles in this part of Wisconsin, but they are always fun to see, especially so close up.

I lost a huge dead tree on my property along the Haw River here in NC, which had been used regularly by hawks and eagles. Very sad...it had always been a thrill to see those majestic birds!

hello all from the deep south , in the last decade or so it has become fairly common to see them nest here in Louisiana . beautiful eagles . coppersmythe...............

Saw a pair circling low over me about two weeks back. We have a nesting pair at the reservoir about two miles away.
I remember in the 70’s it was a huge deal to see one in NJ. Now while we don’t see them every day you can if you go looking for them.
It’s nice to see some things have gotten better.
On the other side while there’s no mistaking them from anything else, people do. Ospreys commonly are called eagles yet some have no clue when they see the real thing. That’s sad.

Bald eagles in this area. Frequently seen, sometimes on the ground eating small dead animals.

Often find large feathers on the acreage. Earlier this evening searched the internet on how to identify eagle feathers. Have a large feather on the shop wall. If it is an eagle feather, I will put it back on the ground. Illegal for non-native Americans to have an eagle feather.

The thought is to prevent anyone from killing an eagle. That’s not a worry with you, I wouldn’t worry about the feather. No ones going to turn you in.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit , after about 2 weeks or so on a backcountry canoe trip in Alaska , a tree with 8-10 bald eagles in it went almost unnoticed  coppersmythe.............................PS: i got about 15 photos of the first tree full i saw

To late. I just confessed on the internet to the crime.

they have come back big time here in NY, certain areas they are easy to find now, here by the Hudson river which is a mile wide in they are nesting on the bridges so its always cool to see them when you cross the bridge

bald eagles come around here this time of year. I have a dead tree, have taken pics of a bald eagle in it, until the bozos the power company hired started cutting it down. I got there in time to save one limb. They had no rights to cut it at all, and even if it fell, it leans heavily away from the road or the powerline on the opposite side of the road.
