Thanks! That make sense because the two large jaws don’t move and closing the handles makes a “V” jaw move down into back area of large jaws. Got them in a estate sale in a tool box with other stuff which included two glass scoring tools

I've cut glass for 30 years , never used one like that , BUT , it makes sense , coppersmythe....................
 
Technical name is “Glass Running Pliers”. Can still buy them but most guys just put a pencil under the score and push down on both sides and let the glass run out on its own following the score.
Been in commercial glazing since 1981.
