Adapting decks to fit other models - 1863 to a 1450

How much work would it be to adapt a deck from a 1863 Cub Cadet to a 1450 Cub Cadet? Could it be done by moving around the hangers? The deck on my 1450 is shot - one mount has broken off and the deck is thin from rust and wear. Finding decks in my area is hard - and finding a 50" deck has been impossible - I've been looking for months.

I don't know the answer. Give it a try.

I only have narrow framed Cub Cadets. The decks are sort of interchangeable. You have to change the deck hangers to match the mounting frame. And then, getting the deck set right is a problem.

Save the old deck.

your main problem is going to be the drive pulley locations and size. belt size? height of pulley above deck? etc. IF all good there then just start cutting and welding til it fits. LOTTA work and may or may not work in the end.
