A Rare Sight...

Waaaay too much time on our hands!

My project was to organize all my parts and hardware bins, AND label them with my Brother labeller! Might actually be able to find things now. Must admit, though, that the bench is still partially covered with projects!

I cleaned off one of the acreage shop work benches today because I need a clean space for another large project.

Setting it up, making a jig, to flatten a 3 1/2" x 26" x 63" walnut slab for son's coffee table. Gonna make a real mess once we start plaining the slab.

So that's what a top of a work bench looks like. I see bits and pieces of mine, but never more than that.

I cleaned an area of my main bench, a few months ago, preparing to rebuild my Silverado trans. It's cluttered again now but nothing like before. There's no hope for the other benches. Those will probably be visible at my estate auction, I'll never see them. When I was at the research center, management would always complain about loaded work benches, they finally started taking benches away from us. The assumption was that if could have stuff piled on benches, we must have more than we need. How could you argue?

We used to have a manager that told the supervisors under him that a cluttered desk was the sign of a cluttered mind. I walked by his office one day and there was nothing on his desk. I asked him what the sign of an empty desk was. Would you be3lieve he and I did not get along?

OK, Stanton! Enquiring minds want to know just what fantastic project inspired such an unheard of event??!!

I needed the room to work on my sheet metal pieces for the AV, saw the bench was ALMOST clean, so went ahead and finished it off.

It’s not clean at the moment... 8)

Nice try, though!! At least what is cluttering it up is your work...give it another month, and it will disappear again!!
