60 Degrees, 5 January

Yup. 60 degrees this afternoon. Took wife on a tractor ride.

Well, sort of. Hooked up the two wheeled trailer with passenger seat and drove and walked the fence line looking for down fence and trees fallen on the fence.

Found fence down in two spots and two big trees fallen on the fence at other locations.

The fence down spots are minor, won't take much to put back up.

One big tree broke when it hit the ground. Just have to cut up and get it off the fence, then restring the fence.

The other big tree on the fence. On a steep slope, leaning on the fence, top wire down, and hung up in an adjacent tree. Widow maker. I don't know what we are going to do. Thinking just leave it alone until it completely falls.

Called son and invited him for a fun filled tractor ride tomorrow. Told son to bring the chain saws.

It was great weather today in this part of Missouri also. I wish every winter day was as nice as this.

Ditto on the warm temps; hit 60 degrees here too. Was able to get the weight and tire/wheel off the AV. Ready to remove drop finals and start replacing seals.

Nice to work with barn doors open all afternoon.

Lived for 7 years in the Panama Canal Zone. Year around temperature range was 92 F for a high and 70 F for a low. After you got climatized you needed wool blankets when the temperature dropped to 70 degrees.

Another great day is forecast for tomorrow. Forecast for the next couple of weeks is pretty darn good for January.
