3 point hitch kits

I've wanted to either modify an existing hitch or buy one of the 3 point hitch kits made for C's. There are a couple out there. Can anyone recommend a 3 point kit for a C from a reputable source? I understand the lift capacity limitations of the tractor but a 3 pt will unlock the potential of this machine. I have a fabricator friend that could modify an existing 3 point hitch but I'm having trouble finding a used 3 pt hitch for anything under $500 in my area (NW Wisconsin). If I start out with a used $500 hitch and then spend another $500 to $800 fitting it to the tractor I'm in just as much of a hole as if I'd bought one of the kits from the start. In the meantime I'll keep my eyes peeled for a junk 3 pt I could retrofit. Either way I can make it work, just trying to be as cost efficient as possible. I've researched a few online places that sell the kits but if anyone has had a good experience with one in particular I'd like to support that business.

P.S. I aired up the rear tires to about 12 pounds and got the speed up to 12.6 mph. Previous record was 12.3.
 
I made one for about $100. I got some thick bar and cut the prongs out and then mounted an old 3 point adapter on the arms. The tricky part (besides getting the prongs right) was the top link bracket. The lift trajectory isn't perfect but it works well.

My mistake. My tractor does not have a fast hitch so I'd be looking at getting one of the kits that use axle clamps or trying to find a fast hitch and make an adapter. I was not clear on how my machine was equipped. I do appreciate the feedback regardless.
 
woops on me too, I see you have a C not an SC. I have seen those where the rock shafts connectors go from the back lift to the front TC arms on either side of the seat...much the same as the rear cultivator lift mechanism. Maybe that would be an option other than the connectors being in the way on the platform
 
Whatever you buy, you will probably find exactly what you were looking for at a much cheaper price within a week.
The cheapest way to get good used parts are to buy another tractor, remove the parts needed, and then sell the tractor.
The last part is the hardest!
 
The super C doesn't have the fast hitch either thought about trying to install one but ended up going with Tony's Tractor 3 pt hitch http://www.tonystractors.com/ih3ph.htm .

I only drag a blade with it to grade my long drive way and it does an excellent job.

A few weeks after I bought it I found a C-72 Grader blade ,made for the Super C, for sale.
I bought it along with everything needed to hook it up.

The after market 3 pt hitches will get you by. I'm looking forward to hooking up the C-72
 
Yea, the C-72 is nice and it is neat to have original. I presume you are going to belly mount it. Whatever you get for a rear blade..the heavier the better. The light ones bounce. Or get a box blade which is perfect for gravel. I just got this rotating Gannon Earthcavator and it is a beast.
