Dale who's the enabler now?Eugene":2g1w69v8 said:Paid $6000 for a Woodmax WM-8600 tractor mounted backhoe. $6000- included additional parts; bucket, grapple, and ripper. Sounds expensive but it's much cheaper than having to rent one for a day everytime you need to use one.
Used the backhoe to dig out a spring fed cattle water supply and a fence line. Planning on using the backhoe to dig holes for planting fruit and nut trees and cleaning a stream ditch to replace a low water crossing.
Handy machine to own and have on hand.
We mount the backhoe on a WD Allis Chalmers. The WD's hydraulics, one way, high pressure, low volume., designed for farm implements. We pick up and carry the backhoe, 1150 lbs. on the 3-point. We have added about 500 lbs of weight to the tractor front. Total tractor weight 4000 lbs. That places around 2500 lbs ahead of the rear axle.Lt.Mike":13m5mdpf said:Eugene you just nudged me that much closer ! I've been wanting a backhoe for a long time but couldn't justify having another huge machine.
