Been working on the loader project now about 6 weeks. Always seems to be something that causes a few setbacks. With all the rain we have gotten it has made it less desirable to get out and work in the shop. Seems like it has rained every weekend but the past two but the weather is now getting nice. Had a little set back with the lathe as well. The clutch shaft broke off so I had to weld a new shaft end on it. Luckily it seems to be holding up well. This lathe was built in the early 1900s so there are no replacement parts. We are finally finished with machining all the bushings and pins needed and seem to have everything working well. I was hoping the loader would be a little stronger but it will probably suit me fine. I am guessing it might pick up between 250-300 pounds. It amazes me that this loader is working off a 1/8" supply line coming from the touch control. I am wondering if I could tweak the power a bit by eliminating a couple of the block 90s and using straight fittings. Any thoughts?
