1650 blows PTO fuses

I have a 1974 IH Cub Cadet 1650 that we bought used several years ago. Originally we had been using it just for plowing snow, but this past year I decided I wanted to start mowing with it. I've been through five or six fuses on the PTO, it runs for 30 minutes then blows. Is this a common problem with a fix? Or should I start tracing my wiring?

We got it figured out...my cousin (who'd eyesight is far better than mine) found a small nick in the wire insulation where it had been rubbing thr frame and shorting.

Mower ran 2 hours with no trouble after routing new wire

Glad for you it was an easy fix.

I had the harness rub on the corner of my engine on my cadet 100. The vibration are right through the black tape.

This wire had gobs of black tape on it from a PO. That helped hide the short since it had turned dark from arcing. The new wire was routed so it won't rub
